The PrairieCare Fund staff is a diverse team with backgrounds and expertise that collectively make our mission possible. Despite our differences, we are united by a heartfelt passion for our cause. Our staff members are committed to increasing awareness of community programming needs and creatively securing funding for mental health initiatives within Minnesota schools and nonprofits.
Together, we strive to support those who are most in need and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families affected by mental health challenges. Kari Davis - Executive Director
Kari is a longtime supporter of Minnesota communities, establishing many community engagement and collaborative partnerships. Before joining PrairieCare Fund, Kari served as the President & CEO of Make A Wish MN where she provided the overall leadership of the organization and the Board of Directors. Kari also served in a leadership role in various non-profits bringing a wealth of experience in both youth development and non-profit leadership. Kari was also a leader for the United Way, where she held positions of Children and Families Impact Team Program Manager and Director of Diversity and Inclusion. Kari participated in and completed the Amherst Wilder, Shannon Leadership Institute and is a graduate of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Kari and her partner live in Apple Valley, MN with their dog and two cats. In her spare time, Kari spends time with her family, enjoys music, yoga, and is an avid sports enthusiast. She is a grandmother to wonderful kiddos who keep her very busy! Don’t mess with her when it comes to football. Kari is a die-hard Minnesota Sports Fan. She coached her son’s football team throughout his middle school and junior high school career and is well known for her passion for the sport around Carlton College, where her son is a 2008 graduate. Michael Moody - Marketing & Outreach Manager
Michael has worked hard to share who he is with anyone he meets, and support those struggling with any mental illness, but especially speaking out on the experience of many LGBTQ+ individuals. He is proud to be a mental health advocate & hero standing up for others who do not have a voice. He reminds us that we are not alone in our struggles. He believes that there is light, healing and hope throughout your mental health journey. Michael is excited to be the Marketing & Outreach Manager and enjoys diving in and helping the Fund raise more dollars and reach more people in need. In his personal life, you will find Michael getting his hands dirty as an avid gardener, something that has brought him peace and clarity since age 6.
