Our Mission

PrairieCare Fund's mission is to support mental health initiatives in education through grants & advocacy. Since 2016, PrairieCare Fund awarded over $1,000,000 in grant funding to 60+ Minnesota school districts & non-profits!  These funds are used to provide youth & staff general mental health education, increase awareness & responsiveness, prevent suicides, to create calm spaces and much more. This year, $385,000 will impact thousands of youth, staff, educators, families and community members throughout the state of Minnesota in schools and non-profit organizations.

Your Support

We ask you to make an impact on mental health by attending, sponsoring and/or donating at the Inaugural Never Walk Alone 5k Walk/Run + Kids Dash! Mental illness touches ALL of us.  We need your help to provide mental health education, prevent suicides, and reduce stigmas in schools across the state.

Together, We Can Make An Impact

By coming together, as a community to foster mental health, we can accomplish our goal to raise $60,000 at the Never Walk Alone 5k Walk/Run + Kids Dash!

About Phalen Park

Phalen Regional Park is located in the northeastern portion of St. Paul, with a small portion extending north into its suburb of Maplewood. The park’s overall area is 494 acres; its centerpiece is Lake Phalen, with a surface area of 198 acres. Phalen is part of a chain of lakes starting several miles north and draining to the south into Phalen Creek, which flows to the Mississippi River. The topography is a mix of rolling hills and fairly level areas.

The park contains a number of activity areas including a network of paths encircling the lake, used most frequently for walking and jogging. The shore length of Lake Phalen is approximately three miles. The lake is popular for fishing and boating, and people can rent canoes and navigate many miles to the north through the chain of lakes.
